Lord Bailey AM recently visited the Royal Gateway development in North Acton, a major new housing scheme led by Barratt London that will deliver nearly 300 new homes for Londoners. The visit follows Lord Bailey’s recent London Housing Conference at City Hall, which brought together leading developers and policymakers to discuss how to tackle the capital’s housing crisis.
The Royal Gateway site forms part of a wider regeneration effort in North Acton, with construction well underway to provide a mix of homes, including affordable housing. Many of the homes in this development include a deposit contribution scheme for key workers. During the visit, Lord Bailey met with representatives from Barratt London to learn more about the project and the role it will play in increasing housing supply in Ealing, as well as how we can better deliver new homes across London.
Speaking after the visit, Lord Bailey AM said:
"Off the back of my London Housing Conference at City Hall last month in attended by Barratt London and other stakeholders, I have been very grateful for the opportunity to visit the Royal Gateway Development in North Acton today, to see firsthand how Barratt London is helping with the regeneration of the area. In the midst of a housing crisis in our capital, developments like this that seek to increase the available stock of housing for Londoners will be vital to helping to get people on the housing ladder."
With Sadiq Khan failing to deliver the homes Londoners want and need, the City Hall Conservatives will continue to push for practical solutions to the housing crisis, supporting sensitively designed schemes and policies that deliver real results for Londoners.
